Monday, May 16 Mary, Mother of Jesus The Quran speaks of Mary (called Miriam in Arabic) not only as the mother of Jesus, but as a righteous woman in her own right. The Quran refers to her by name 34 times and chapter 19 in the Quran is named Mary. In the Greek copy of the New Testament Mary is only mentioned 19 times.
