Eid-al-Fitr

Upon the completion of Ramadan the festival of Eid-al-Fitr is celebrated. The Eid-al-Fitr is a very joyous day and people dress in their finest clothes, adorn their homes with lights and decorations, give treats to children, and enjoy visits with friends and family. On this day Muslims show their real joy for the health, strength and the opportunities of life, which Allah has given to them to fulfill their obligation of fasting and other good deeds during the blessed month of Ramadan.

Eid-al-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of the month of Shawwal that follows Ramadan. In 2005, Ramadan begins at sundown October 5th and ends with Eid-al-Fitr, beginning at sundown November 3rd with celebrations continuing through November 4th.
