Many camels are seen in the desert-like area. Some camels are standing and others are sitting down on all fours. Some of the one-hump camels are behind fences that are not sturdy and made with lumber perhaps 2 inches square and 3 feet high connect with 3 strands of wire in-between the posts. The camels are various shades of brown, from dark to light tan with a baby camel sitting down that is almost white. All the camels are dromedary camels which means they all have only one hump and are the only kind of camel found in Saudi Arabia.

The Camel Souq / Market just outside the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, is always enjoyable to visit. As you can see visitors are free to walk around, examine the camels and experience a market that has changed little in the last few hundred years. All the camels are dromedary camels which means they all have only one hump and are the only kind of camel found in Saudi Arabia.
