Acacia Valley in Saudi Arabia

Acacia Valley is part of the old Darb al Hijaz used for centuries by travelers moving east-west across the Arabian Peninsula. Today the valley is a rich agricultural area with fields of fruit and vegetables.

Darb:
    way or route
Escarpment:
    A steep slope or long cliff that results from erosion or faulting and separates two relatively level areas of differing elevations.
Wadi:
    A valley that remains dry except during the rainy season.
